GXO is currently seeking a talented and driven Transport Shift Manager to join us on at our B&Q site in Doncaster. Here you will lead a shift of team leaders, clerks and drivers by giving direction and monitoring performance, to ensure that the department operates efficiently and effectively in providing a quality service.

 

This is a full time, permanent position, where you’ll be working on an any ‘5 from 7 shift basis’, the hours of work will rotate weekly between 06:00 – 14:00 and 14:00 – 22.00.

You’ll be paid a salary of up to £35,000 per annum. What you’ll do on a typical day:

 

  • You’ll ensure the efficient running of the operation and drive operational performance through development of site systems and operational processes
  • You’ll identify and resolve operational issues and where appropriate escalate to the Transport Manager, ensuring that the transport department always remains legally compliant
  • You’ll analyse reports against KPI’s and take actions to improve results
  • You’ll lead the transport team through the continued growth of the operation and introduce change positively

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

 

  • You will have experience of working within a large and fast paced transport environment, at a supervisory level
  • You will be a strong leader with excellent communication skills, to champion a can-do attitude
  • You will also have experience of managing conflicting priorities, along with planning and organising skills within a transport operation
  • You will be comfortable taking responsibility demonstrating commitment and leading by example
