To further strengthen the team and support the expansions within GXO, we are looking for a QESH Officer for our locations in Almere and Lelystad. If you are passionate about the safety of others, ensuring they all get to go home at the end of the day, then we want to speak with you!
What you do on a typical day
- Support & Advice
- Support teams with the practical implementation of QESH standards.
- Provide guidance on regulations, compliance topics and environmental responsibilities.
- Bring in specialist expertise when needed.
- Improvement & Culture
- Analyse incidents and help teams learn from them.
- Encourage near‑miss reporting.
- Support the development of a strong safety culture.
- Audits & Standards
- Carry out site inspections and audits, including occasional out-of-hours visits.
- Support internal and external audits, including ISO processes.
- Evaluate subcontractors and review their QESH performance annually.
- Investigation & Learning
- Assist with incident investigations and provide advice on the legal framework.
- Share lessons learned with the wider QESH team.
- Working with our large QESH team throughout the Netherlands and Belgium to help improve policies, methods and Implementations.
- Working with Authorities
- Support managers during inspections from regulatory bodies.
- Help prepare responses and follow-up actions.
- Environment & Sustainability
- Contribute to reducing waste, energy use and environmental impact on site.
- Suggest practical and realistic improvements that fit day-to-day operations.
- Safety Culture
- Promote a culture where avoidable incidents are not accepted.
- Encourage and support colleagues to speak up and take action when needed.
What you need to succeed at GXO
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant area with accompanying high level analytical skills
- Relevant experience in the field of Health & Safety
- Experience in ISO 9001, ISO14001 would be beneficial
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Dutch and English are mandatory
- Driving licence and willingness to commute to both locations
