As a Team Leader, you’ll be responsible for the efficient day-to-day operation of the department with particular emphasis on managing warehouse associates and implementing warehouse plans.
This really is a hands on role where you can ensure a slick and robust process to ensure customer satisfaction!
What do you do on a typical day?
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team, providing ongoing feedback, training, and support to drive engagement and success.
- Deliver operational excellence by achieving KPIs, ensuring accuracy, productivity, and service quality across the operation.
- Plan and manage team resources effectively, including workload allocation, shift scheduling, and workforce planning.
- Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive working environment, proactively addressing employee relations matters and promoting a strong team culture.
- Support key operational initiatives and business start-ups, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation.
- Contribute to talent management activities, including recruitment, performance reviews, development planning, and succession planning.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring high levels of customer service and operational support.
- Maintain operational standards and process documentation, ensuring teams are trained and up to date on policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Champion health, safety, sustainability, and compliance, driving continuous improvement and supporting GXO's environmental and operational objectives.
What you need to succeed at GXO
- You have intermediate vocational education in retail Logistics, Supply Chain Management or equivalent
- You have at least 3 years of experience in a managerial position within a logistics environment
- You are familiar with the MS Office package and WMS functionality
- LEAN Warehousing knowledge is desirable
- Strong communication skills in Dutch and English are essential
- Be self-driven and resilient with the ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
- Excellent reporting and presentation skills
- Flexibility to work shifts
