As team lead Finance, you work closely with your Business Unit Director and are responsible for the closely with management teams of the different sites and are supported by a back office team with Finance professional. 
You will provide leadership and managerial support for Finance: Inventory/Cost Accounting, Accounts Payable, Personal Expenses, Fixed Asset, Accounts Receivable and Cash Collection
GXO is growing rapidly, creating challenges within the existing organization, at times integrating pre-existing organizations and starting completely new sites and/or operations


What you do on a typical day

  • Monitor and report financial and operational performance and use high-level analytical skills to interpret monthly, quarterly, and annual operating results, investigate variances and unusual items, and evaluate their effect on operations
  • Measure and communicate results on key levers effectively within GXO Leadership team and customer
  • Forecasts and communicate on key levers effectively within the business unit and to the GXO leadership team
  • Align and build partnerships across functional areas to raise awareness of financial performance and promote communication
  • Benchmark locations, operational groups, and personnel with meaningful KPI’s in order to train and improve future results
  • Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and planning processes, working cross-functionally to influence internal stakeholders and customer
  • Develop routine and ad hoc analyses to support business decisions
  • Develop tools for early identification of operational opportunities and make recommendations
  • Consciously dealing with the reduction of environmental impact in terms of waste, energy, water and fuel consumption
  • Manage a team of 2-3 persons dedicated to a customer account, setting objectives and assessing performance

What you need to succeed at GXO

  • Minimum Required Education: Master Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum Required Experience: 10+ years of Accounting experience; experience managing large projects with multiple stakeholders, preferably international experience
  • Desirable Education/Experience: US and Dutch GAAP and cost accounting methods; country FP&A experience preferred
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) in Dutch and English. French and German is an advantage
  • Excellent communications and presentation skills and customer-oriented mindset
  • Financial planning and modeling skill, comfortable to manage high complexity business planning and reporting 
  • Ability to draw on new analytical techniques to develop creative approaches to meet business objectives
  • Very good business acumen with the ability to identify issues and provide solutions, make decisions and meet deadlines
  • Leadership experience and skills. Cross functional expertise e.g. presentation & gravitas
  • Strong system skills with ability to learn new systems quickly. Advanced Excel is essential. The experience with Hyperion Planning and ERP system (SAP) will be preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment
  • Able to work independently and as a team with minimal supervision in a self-directed fashion and as a team player
