We are looking for 2 x Team Leaders to support our site in Zellik, Belgium.
The team leader is responsible for the efficient day-to-day operation of the department with particular emphasis on managing warehouse associates and implementing warehouse action plans.
Establish and maintain procedures for meeting company and customer commitments; promote/implement continual improvement; training, motivation, and leadership within area of responsibility; conflict resolution; and enforcing company policies/procedures!
- Leading a team of approx. 40 FTE – working within out frozen goods warehouse – supporting on day-to-day needs, issues, absences, training etc
- Focus on productivity, quality and most importantly safety
- Overseeing processes, reviewing route courses, leading to improvements
- Managing quality of our service and best practices
- The site is -22 degrees environment, but we will keep you warm and comfortable when within our frozen environment!
- Ability to cover 2 shifts between Monday – Friday rotational
- 06.00 – 14.00 + 14.00 – 22.00, due to the nature of the role some Saturday morning working may be required, to be discussed at interview – 6.00 -12.00
- Fluency in French is a must (and either fluency in Dutch and/or English)
Your role as a Team Leader
- Manages team performance continually; develops associates by providing training and coaching.
- Responsible to meet all operational KPI’s.
- Assigns duties and monitors work completion for accuracy.
- Maintains a safe work environment and fosters a positive team dynamic, resolving employee relations issues and administering corrective action as required.
- Lead start-up activities with cross functional teams
- Responsible to make recommendations regarding hiring, terminating, performance evaluations, and promotions.
- Daily interaction with internal and external customer on operational level.
- Personnel scheduling to support all shifts and accounts, plan and organize staff workload
- Maintain documentation of processes that are followed by the department Train associates so an up to date understanding of processes, policies and procedures are
- maintained.
- Work safely as per GXO Health & Safety trainings, standards, procedures and processes and actively contribute to a safer work environment for colleagues and visitors.
- Contribution to structural reduction of negative environmental impact from usage of natural resources (a/o energy, water, fuel) and from emissions (waste, carbon) and to contribute to environmental performance initiatives.
- Adhere to applicable legal requirements, GXO and industry standards and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
What you need to succeed at GXO as a Team Leader
- Experience of leading a team within a warehousing/distribution/food or production environment, understanding the picking and processing duties.
- Fluent French us a must (and either fluency in Dutch and/or English)
- A proactive, hands-on working style and the ability to support teams effectively.
