Stock Controller

We’re looking for a proactive Stock Controller to join our GXO warehouse operations team supporting Amazon in Avonmouth. In this role, you’ll help keep the inbound flow running smoothly by identifying issues, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring stock is accurate from the moment it enters the site.

 

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys analysing information, supporting continuous improvement, and contributing to the efficiency of a fast‑paced warehouse environment.

 

This is a full-time, permanent day shift role on a 3 on/3 off pattern from 06:00 to 18:00.

Plus, you’ll enjoy 25 Saturdays, 26 Sundays, and 17 full weekends off each year—giving you a rare and valuable work–life balance.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

 

  • Investigate and analyse the root causes of inbound stock issues
  • Maintain accurate records of discrepancies and corrective actions within the Warehouse Management System (WMS)
  • Support continuous improvement projects focused on reducing recurring inbound and stock‑related errors
  • Communicate issue status, updates, and resolution timelines to key stakeholders across the operation
  • Ensure all problem‑solving activities are completed in line with site safety and quality standards

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

 

  • Strong problem‑solving skills with a proactive approach
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well with different teams
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems and inbound warehouse processes
  • Ability to stay organised, prioritise tasks, and remain calm during busy periods
  • Basic understanding of inventory control, stock flow, and warehouse operations
  • Experience in warehousing, logistics, retail, or manufacturing environments
