HR Assistant

Here at GXO, we’re looking for a proactive and adaptable HR Assistant to join our BAE Air contract based in Blackburn. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, can manage a high workload, and is eager to develop a career in HR. You’ll provide comprehensive HR administration and advisory support across the full emoloyee lifecycle, working closely with managers and the wider People Team.

 

This is a full-time, permanent position. You’ll work Monday to Friday, 09:00 till 17:00.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £28,805.93 per annum and 24 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). Your benefits package includes a company sponsored pension, life assurance, and death in service.

 

What you’ll do on a typical day:

 

  • Maintain accurate HR records and ensure compliance with Data Protection
  • Act as the first point of contact for HR queries, escalating complex issues
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and induction processes
  • Perpare HR documentation including contracts, letters, and reports
  • Assist with payroll queries and liaise with Shared Services
  • Provide admin support for meetings under Behaviour, Attendance, and Grievance policies

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

 

  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Resilient, pragmatic, and solutions-focused approach
  • Previous HR experience or exposure to HR processes
  • Enthusiasm for developing HR knowledge and progressing towards CIPD accreditation
  • High attention to detail and confidentiality

 

Due to the nature of our business, you must be able to obtain SC level clearance.
