Assistant Finance Manager

Here at GXO, we’re seeking an Assistant Finance Manager to join our ASOS contract based at our Barnsley site. As an Assistant Finance Manager, you’ll play a key role in supporting the Finance Manager with the smooth running of all financial, commercial, and administrative functions across site operations and projects. You’ll lead a small team, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, and providing valuable insights to both internal stakeholders and the client.

 

This is a full-time permanent position. You’ll be working Monday to Friday, covering the hours of 08:30 till 17:00.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

 

  • Lead and manage a team to deliver daily, weekly, and monthly financial reporting
  • Support the Finance Manager in preparing information for customer meetings and JMRs
  • Own and reconcile payroll, agency, and operational trackers
  • Provide proactive financial insights to support decision-making
  • Support budgeting and forecasting for GXO and customer projects
  • Drive continuous improvement across the financial process

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

 

  • Strong demonstratable experience in a similar finance role
  • Experience with open book accounting and account preparation
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Part-qualified CIMA
  • Experience in managing a team
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
