Payroll Data Administrator

Here at GXO, we’re looking for a detail-driven Data Administrator within Payroll to join our HR and Payroll team at our ASOS site, in Barnsley. This role is a perfect blend of payroll processing and data management, supporting the smooth delivery of payroll while ensuring data integrity and compliance.

 

This is a full-time, permanent position. You’ll be working Monday to Friday, covering the hours of 08:30 till 17:00.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

 

  • Producing reports and dashboards using Excel (Pivot Tables, Formulas, Data Models)
  • Supporting weekly and monthly payroll cycles, including overtime, absence, and holiday records
  • Support statutory payments (SMP, SSP, SPP), HMRC forms, and compliance reporting
  • Implement and maintain payroll trackers, spreadsheets, and databases for accurate monitoring of pay, attendance, and absence data
  • Maintaining accurate payroll data across HRIS and Time & Attendance systems
  • Responding to payroll queries and resolving discrepancies
  • Auditing and cleansing data to ensure accuracy and GDPR compliance

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

 

  • Strong administrative experience, ideally in payroll or data-heavy roles
  • Advances Excell skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, conditional formatting)
  • Excellent attention to detail and a proactive, analytical mindset
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving skills and excellent communication
  • Knowledge of UK Payroll legislation and experience with HRIS or T&A Systems are a bonus!
