Assistant Finance Manager - Adidas - Bedford

Are you AAT qualified and currently studying (or looking to study) towards CIMA, ACA or ACCA? Do you have experience in supporting management account, forecasting and operational finance within a fast-paced environment? Are you confident partnering with operations, senior leaders and customers, and stepping up to represent the Finance Manager when required?

 

Here at GXO, we’re looking for an Assistant Finance Manager to join our Fashion & Apparel business unit, supporting our Adidas contract in Bedford. You will provide critical support to ensure the smooth delivery of all financial commercial and administrative requirements for the site. Working closely with the Finance Manager, you will support site operations, projects and the wider commercial function, ensuring timely, accurate and insightful financial reporting. You will play a key role in maintaining the integrity, accuracy and timeliness of weekly and month management account for both open and closed booked contracts.

 

This is a full-time permanent position. You’ll be working Monday to Friday, covering the hours of 09:00 till 17:00.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

 

  • Provide cover for the Finance Manager to ensure weekly reporting submissions are delivered in full
  • Support the Finance Manager in maintaining payroll, agency, registers and trackers, working closely with operations
  • Prepare full balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis, identifying risks and opportunities
  • Assist in the preparation of financial information for monthly customer meetings
  • Manage the Purchase Order process, ensuring correct coding and authorisation

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

 

  • AAT qualified and ideally studying towards CIMA, ACA or ACCA
  • Proven experience within a similar Assistant Finance/Site Finance role
  • FP&A experience with high levels of analytical activity
  • Experience working within open book contracts, ideally in a 3PL environment
  • Experience using multiple General Ledger systems (Oracle is desirable)
  • Strong analytical capability with a forensic approach to numbers
