As the Facility Safety Manager, you will support management and personnel by developing safety and health programs to ensure the safety of our employees. Your years of experience will be utilized to maximize employee engagement and maintain clear and frequent communication on every level.

What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Develop & Enforce Safety Programs: Implement site-specific policies, procedures, and training to ensure a safe work environment.
- Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Maintain adherence to OSHA, DOT, EPA, and internal safety standards.
- Conduct Risk Assessments & Incident Investigations: Identify hazards, perform audits, investigate incidents, and implement corrective actions.
- Manage Safety Training & Documentation: Train staff on protocols and equipment use; maintain compliance records, incident logs, and reports.
- Coordinate Emergency Preparedness: Develop and conduct emergency plans, drills, and crisis response activities.
- Promote Safety Culture: Drive employee safety engagement and partner with leadership to integrate safety into daily operations.
- Monitor & Improve Safety Metrics: Analyze trends and lead initiatives for continuous improvement.
Facility & Equipment Maintenance:
- Maintain & Repair Equipment: Perform routine maintenance on conveyors, chucks, and other facility infrastructure.
- Skilled Trade Work: Painting, drywall, plastering, and coordinate third-party service providers as needed.
- Machine & Preventive Maintenance: Disassemble, clean, inspect, and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and low-voltage electrical systems; complete and document all preventive maintenance.
- Support New Equipment & Product Processing: Assist in implementation of new processes and evaluate/test products to ensure functionality; complete cosmetic repairs for resale.
What you need to succeed at GXO:
At a minimum, you’ll need:
- 4 years of related work experience, including 2 years of safety audit experience
- Experience reporting safety metrics (leading/lagging indicators)
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Limited amount of maintanance experience.
It’d be great if you also have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Safety Sciences or a related field
- Membership in a nationally recognized safety organization
- 5 years of experience managing safety and health programs in an industrial or warehouse environment
