Head of Network Planning

If so, GXO would love you to join our M&S Food operation as Head of Network Planning & Flow. This is a pivotal leadership role, working closely with Site General Managers, GXO and M&S supply chain teams to optimise stock flow, labour strategy and network performance.
This is a full‑time, permanent position, with flexibility to travel across the network as required. The hours of work will be 37.5 per week, working on an any 5 from 7 shift pattern. Typically, this will be Monday to Friday, however we do require a level of flexibility as you will need to engage with various teams within this 24/7 operation – this is logistics after all!

What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Lead the strategic planning and flow of stock across the ambient network, ensuring alignment with customer supply chain strategy and future activity
- Own network labour strategy, working closely with HR and site leadership to ensure peak readiness, cost control and service excellence
- Champion continuous improvement, working with GXO and customer tech teams to implement technology, process improvements and network‑wide initiatives
- Act as the single point of contact for supply chain on future activity, growth, scoping and high‑profile projects, clearly communicating benefit and risk
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with GXO and M&S stakeholders, delivering clear network briefings and driving a one‑team, cross‑functional culture
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Proven experience leading network planning, flow or supply chain strategy within a complex logistics or retail environment
- Strong knowledge of planning principles, stock positioning and labour strategy, with the commercial acumen to deliver CI and gainshare benefits
- Demonstrable experience delivering large‑scale projects from concept through to delivery, on time and with measurable outcomes
- Highly analytical, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insight and compelling executive‑level communication
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management capability, with the confidence to influence senior customers and internal leaders
