Shift manager

Here at GXO, we’re looking for a Shift Manager to lead our warehouse operations at our Bridgewater site, ensuring safety, efficiency, and excellence every day.

 

At Hinkley Point C, we’re building two new nuclear reactors – the first in a new generation of power stations delivering zero-carbon electricity to six million homes. As a Tier One partner to Nuclear New Build (NNB), we provide essential warehousing and transportation services.

 

This is a full-time permanent position. You’ll be working Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts between the hours of 6am to 6pm with occasional Saturday shifts. However, some flexibility is required, this is logistics after all!

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £38,500 per annum, and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). A company sponsored pension scheme, life assurance and death in service.

 

What you’ll do on a typical day:

 

  • Lead and manage shift teams, ensuring a safe and productive working environment
  • Deliver clear, engaging shift briefings to align teams with daily priorities
  • Oversee inventory control using WMS, scan guns, and tablets for accuracy
  • Maintain and update payroll systems (Oracle/Kronos) promptly and correctly
  • Collate and present operational data to senior management and clients

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

 

  • Previous experience in warehouse operations and line management
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate and mentor teams
  • Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems and Microsoft applications
  • A safety-first mindset and ability to drive operational excellence
  • CITB MAPS certification and a valid driving licence (desirable)
