General Manager

Here at GXO, we’re currently looking for a General Manager to lead our warehouse operation in Peterborough. You’ll lead an established, settled and experienced team and be responsible for ultimately ensuring the operational and commercial success of the operation.

 

This is a full time, permanent role. Even though you'll be contracted to Monday - Friday, this is a 24/7 operation, therefore you’ll need to offer a level of flexibility in terms of working hours – no two weeks are the same, this is logistics after all!

You’ll be paid a salary of up to £90,000 per annum, depending upon experience. What you’ll do on a typical day:

 

  • Budget responsibility, ensuring contract KPIs and budgets are achieved, contribute to quarterly costs budgets covering all aspects of the site.  
  • Primary contact for the customer developing and maintaining relationships in line with a partnership approach attending regular customer reviews
  • Devise and implement provision of all appropriate reporting for both internal and external customers
  • Lead, coach and develop direct reports; responsible for all people processes during the lifecycle of an employee

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

 

  • Proven experience in a similar senior management role and environment working with a high-profile customer
  • Awareness of differing commercial mechanisms as well as understanding P&Ls.  Proven success in delivering costs and KPIs
  • Exposure to building strong business relationships with both internal and external customers
  • Up-to-date knowledge of both legal and audit compliance requirements required to run a large DC
