Shift Manager

Here at GXO, we are currently on the search for a Shift Manager to join our team in Peterborough, on the mountain warehouse contract. You’ll be responsible for the efficient running of the warehouse operations, placing the highest regard on colleague wellbeing, health and safety whilst, meeting the operational KPI’s.

 

This is a full-time, permanent position operating on a 5 out of 7 rota. Flexibility is a key requirement, as business volumes and demand may necessitate working any of the following shifts: 06:00–14:00, 14:00–22:00, or 22:00–06:00.

We’re looking to offer a salary of £38,000.00 per annum, plus shift allowances when working the night shift and 33 days holiday (inclusive of bank holidays). What you’ll do on a typical day:

 

  • Understand the short to medium term plans of their customer and the operational requirements for each shift by working with First Line Managers to review operational volumes and forecasts for the coming week
  • Close liaison with the sites Inventory/admin and quality teams to ensure availability of the right stock in the right place, through routine inspections to ensure stock integrity
  • Organise fast and effective follow up on preventive/remedial action where investigation identifies faults are attributable to the business
  • Responsible for and aware of the budgeted headcount for the contract for which they are responsible for and the breakdown of full and part time colleagues

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

 

  • Experience leading a team of warehouse colleagues within a large, fast paced warehouse environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Good knowledge around H&S policy’s & producers
