Planner - 1st Shift

1st Shift, Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm

As the Planner, you take responsible for planning production of food displays and foods eComm builds at the Carlisle Distribution Center.   Incumbent ensures required materials and finished goods components are on hand or inbound to the DC to build displays and eComm packs to meet demand requirements.  The role oversees the third-party logistics team and monitors compliance of all builds on time and in full.  This position also manages twelve to thirteen promotional events per year, which are shipped direct to stores (DSD), and works directly with Sales and Customer Service on forecasts, order fulfillment, call outs for out of stock, and conversions to open stock when needed.

What you’ll do on a typical day: 
•    Responsible for planning and monitoring production of food displays and foods eComm builds at the Carlisle Distribution Center.  This is a highly visible role in meeting sales and customers’ expectations requiring great attention to detail and excellent communication skills with people at all levels in the organization.

•    Perform daily review of short lead/no forecast requests.  Analyze material availability to determine if displays can be accommodated on date requested and communicate to appropriate Customer Service personnel. Requires constant communication with Customer Service, Delivery Processors, and Material Planners.
•    Optimize the planning model daily to ensure the correct demand signal is sent to the field planners for components and packaging materials.  
•    Ensures required packaging materials and components are on hand or inbound to the DC to build displays and eComm packs to meet demand requirements.   Execute MRP (material requirements planning) in SAP for materials and specialty pallet ordering for builds. Place orders with vendors as needed. 
•    Manage all customization activities within SAP in compliance with procedures, SOPs, and timing guidelines.  
•    Work with Cost Accounting Team to manage all changes and new additions to building processes in SAP (bill of material updates).  Manage all bill of material updates in WMS system.
•    Monitor aging inventory for components and displays. Investigate if another DC in the network can use any excess displays to avoid scrap/rework. 
•    Supervise physical inventory of raw materials.  Manage excess and obsolete material and scrap requests
•    Monitor material inventory discrepancies between WMS and SAP, monitor ZNON inventory levels, investigate confirmation/backflush errors.
•    Supervise all rework projects in conjunction with Inventory Control Specialists
What you need to succeed at GXO: 
At a minimum, you’ll need: 
•    Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain or a related field, or equivalent related work or military experience
•    1 year of experience leading complex demand planning activities 
•    Computer literacy in word processing, spread sheets; aptitude to extract information from all internal systems for reporting purposes
•    Must possess strong analytical skills including problem resolution and analysis
•    Ability to consistently achieve desired results, manage multiple tasks, set priorities, and act decisively
•    Must work and participate effectively in a team environment with diverse personalities.
•    Ability to communicate effectively, internally and externally, to all levels of management
•    Must possess strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and maintain relationships.
•    To be highly self-motivated and self-managed, with excellent prioritization and organizational skills
It’d be great if you also have: 
•    SAP experience is a plus.
•    Production experience a plus.
•    Transportation experience
•    Strong communication skills including good verbal, written, and listening skills
