Here at GXO, we are recruiting for an Assistant Management Accountant on an 18-month FTC basis.
In this role, you’ll take ownership of producing accurate and timely management accounts for our Support Functions, ensure strong balance sheet control, and play a key part in budgeting, forecasting, and continuous improvement initiatives. You’ll work closely with a Finance Business Partner and act as a trusted source of insight for senior leaders.
This is an 18-month fixed term contract. The role is hybrid, with a requirement to work in our Chippenham office on a Tuesday & Wednesday each week. You’ll be working Monday to Friday, 09:00 till 17:00. However, some flexibility is required, this is logistics after all!

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £35,000, depending on experience, and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). Your benefits package includes a company sponsored pension scheme.
What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Producing monthly Support Function Management Accounts, complete with clear and insightful variance analysis
- Reconciling Support Function balance sheet accounts, resolving queries promptly and accurately
- Supporting the Budget and Forecast cycles, ensuring timely, high-quality submissions and updates
- Reviewing key overhead spend categories and providing data driven insights to support decision making
- Delivering ad‑hoc accounting support and proactively escalating issues where needed
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Experience completing monthly Management Accounts and preparing accounting packs including variance analysis
- Strong stakeholder management skills and confidence working with Finance Business Partners and functional leads
- A structured, organised approach with proven ability to meet deadlines
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and the ability to apply them accurately to transaction timing and treatment
- A continuous improvement mindset with a track record of identifying opportunities to enhance quality or efficiency
