Management Accountant

Here at GXO, we are looking for an experienced Management Accountant to deliver accurate and timely financial reporting, strengthen financial controls, and act as a trusted partner to both finance and non‑finance stakeholders. You’ll play a key part in budget and forecasting cycles, drive continuous improvement, and lead a small team to build future capability.
This is a full-time permanent position. You’ll be working Monday to Friday, 09:00 till 17:00 with a requirement to be in our Chippenham office Tuesday and Wednesday each week. However, some flexibility is required, this is logistics after all!
Pay, benefits and more:
We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £55,000, depending on experience and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). Your benefits package includes a company sponsored pension scheme.
What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Produce accurate monthly Management Accounts for Support Functions, Logistic Solutions and People Campus, including variance analysis against budget and forecast
- Complete timely balance sheet reconciliations, resolving queries proactively
- Partner with non‑financial managers, building strong relationships and driving commercial understanding across the business
- Develop financial models and reporting that provide insight and support effective decision‑making
- Lead, develop and motivate two Assistant Management Accountants to support capability and succession planning
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Fully qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACA or ACCA) with experience producing management accounts and variance analysis
- Strong attention to detail, excellent financial control discipline and the ability to work to tight deadlines
- High proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, formulas) and confidence in using IT systems to drive efficiency
- A continuous improvement mindset with the ability to identify and deliver process enhancements
- A proactive, inquisitive approach with the confidence to challenge, guide and influence stakeholders
