Senior Accounts Payable Specialist

Here at GXO, we’re looking for a Senior Accounts Payable Associate to join our team and play a critical role in managing vendor relationships, resolving invoice disputes, and ensuring smooth financial operations. Reporting to the Assistant Accounts Payable Manager, you’ll act as a key point of contact for priority vendors and support the team in delivering accurate and timely results.

 

This is a full-time permanent position. You’ll be working Monday to Friday, 09:00 till 17:00 with a requirement to be in our Chippenham office Tuesday and Wednesday each week. However, some flexibility is required, this is logistics after all!

 

Pay, benefits and more:

 

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £34,000 per annum, and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). A company sponsored pension scheme, life assurance and death in service.

 

What you’ll do on a typical day:

 

  • Represent the onshore team in vendor meetings and ensure all actions are tracked and completed
  • Own and manage priority vendor accounts, resolving invoice disputes and escalating blockers where needed
  • Review vendor statement reconciliations and follow up on unreconciled differences
  • Support month-end processes by completing assigned tasks accurately and on time
  • Monitor and manage KPIs for unallocated cash, ensuring compliance and timely resolution

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

 

  • Strong experience in Accounts Payable with a focus on vendor management and reconciliations
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence in leading meetings with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple deadlines effectively
  • Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with financial systems
  • A proactive, detail-oriented approach with strong problem-solving skills
