Inventory Controller

Here at GXO, we are looking for an Inventory Controller to come and join us at our Nestle Purina site in Hams Hall, Birmingham. Our site requires strong stock control processes to ensure inventory integrity, operational efficiency, and high levels of customer service across multiple channels.
The purpose of this role is to maintain and improve stock accuracy across the site, respond effectively to customer requests, and support the smooth flow of stock through close collaboration with operational teams and other support functions. You will be responsible for carrying out investigations, reconciliations, audits, and system transactions to identify and resolve stock issues in a timely manner, whilst ensuring all inventory processes are completed accurately and in line with site and customer requirements.
This is a full time, permanent position, working an “Any 5 out of 7” shift pattern, rotating over 06:00-14:00 and 14:00-22:00.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £30,426.24 plus a shift allowance of £1,709.50, per annum and 33 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays). What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Maintain high levels of stock accuracy across all storage and picking locations
- Complete cycle counts and stock checks in line with site requirements and agreed schedules
- Carry out stock investigations and resolve discrepancies accurately and within agreed timelines
- Perform location audits to ensure correct stock placement and system alignment
- Complete stock reconciliations following inbound, outbound, returns, and internal stock movement activity
- Support inbound and outbound stock validation checks to minimise errors and reduce stock losses
- Respond to customer queries and requests in a timely and professional manner
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Experience in a warehouse inventory / stock control role
- Intermediate MS Excel skills with clear communication skills and accuracy in detail
- WMS/SAP/Manhattan knowledge
- Good understanding of stock accuracy processes, counting methods, and reconciliation activities
