Warehouse Shift Manager

Here at GXO, it’s an exciting time to join us as Warehouse Shift Manager on our Nestle Purina contract, based in our Hams Hall depot.
As Shift Manager, you will lead warehouse operations, along with managing and developing Team Leaders and colleagues, to support in optimisation, championing Health & Safety and maintaining strong colleague and customer relationships.
This is a permanent, full-time opportunity on a rotational 37.5-hour shift pattern. Any 5 days out of 7 (06:00 to 14:00 and 14:00 to 22:00).

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £39,343.20 per annum (plus shift premium of £1,709.50) and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). Your benefits package includes a company sponsored pension scheme, life assurance and access to our benefits platform, including retail discounts
What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Lead warehouse operations on a shift‑by‑shift basis, overseeing Inbound, Outbound, Returns, D2C, and Inventory activities
- Deliver operational KPIs across cost, quality, and service through effective resource and performance management
- Manage, develop, and engage Team Leaders and colleagues, promoting a positive, inclusive, and high‑performing culture
- Champion Health & Safety, compliance, and housekeeping standards, working closely with support functions and stakeholders
- Ensure effective communication, reporting, and people management, contributing to continuous improvement and taking site responsibility when require

- Communicate confidently and influence effectively at all levels, including customer interfacing, using clear, persuasive, and analytical decision‑making
- Apply strong operational, organisational, and problem‑solving skills to anticipate issues, plan effectively, and deliver smooth, consistent operations
- Experienced in driving performance against KPIs and financial targets
