Class 1 Driver

Here at GXO Coventry we are looking for HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our transport team, supporting our customer Halfords. You’ll play a key part in keeping the supply chain flowing smoothly in a fast-paced, team-driven environment.
You will be working on a full-time, permanent basis, on an ‘Any 5 days from7’ pattern, with start time window of 02:00 to 04:00, contracted to 48 hours per week.

- An hourly rate of £18.21, that is an annual salary of £45,444.78
- An additional £3.00 per hour, for any hours worked between 20:00 and 06:00
- An additional £61.80 on top of standard hourly rate when working an additional shift

What you will do on a typical day:
- Carry out multidrop deliveries, typically averaging up to 6 drops per shift, while collecting returns from stores in line with operational requirements
- Handle both palletised goods and cages, ensuring safe and efficient loading and unloading procedures
- Maintain clear communication with the Depot Transport Office regarding any issues and deliver exemplary customer service by being polite and courteous at all times
- Operate company vehicles in a safe, legal, and efficient manner while ensuring required documents are completed accurately and on time
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Previous experience driving Class 1 vehicles is essential
- Full UK driving licence with category C+E entitlement
- Valid Driver Qualification and Digital Tachograph Cards
- No more than 6 current penalty points
- No DR, DG, DD, BA, CD, AC, LC or TT99 endorsements
