Here at GXO we’re looking for a Transport Operations Manager to join our site in Crewe. You will be managing the day-to-day transport operation of the site and you will have a strong emphasis on Transport Compliance and operational efficiency, ensuring that KPI’S are achieved and ensuring all key Operator licence requirements are met.

 

This is a permanent role working Monday – Friday, 9:00 – 17:00, however some flexibility may be required.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

 

  • Establish and enforce safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry best practices.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments, taking appropriate measures to mitigate risks andmaintain a safe working environment.
  • Stay current on transportation laws, regulations, and industry standards to ensure compliance and mitigate potential risks.
  • Progress the individual personal development plans of our Transport Supervisors to ensure they learn all developing legal requirements and grow in their roles to improve the status quo.
  • Manage all responsibilities that are associated to having direct reports, including regular 1-1’s, appraisals, personal development plans, absence and disciplinary activities along with the overall effectiveness of the job roles within the department

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

 

  • Proven experience in a leadership role within the transportation or logistics industry.
  • Experience in safety leadership, with the ability to promote a culture of safety, implementing effective safety protocols, and fostering continuous improvement in safety practices across transport operations.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation operations, safety regulations, and legal compliance.
  • Must hold an international CPC licence
