Automation Maintenance Engineer

Here at GXO, we’re looking for an Automation Maintenance Engineer to support our Zara contract based in Crick. You’ll play a critical part in maintaining and optimising complex automation systems within a high-volume logistics environment. You will be responsible for leading engineering best practice on site, delivering preventative and corrective maintenance on automation technology while driving performance, compliance, and continuous improvement across the operation.
This is a full-time, permanent position. You will work on a ‘4 on 4 off’ basis, covering the hours of 07:00 till 19:00.

What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Carry out root cause analysis on breakdowns and implement corrective actions
- Minimise operational downtime through effective fault-finding and repairs
- Ensure spare equipment ins maintained and recorded in line with asset management processes
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve automation efficiency
- Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports
- Identify, report, and mitigate hazards, incidents, and accidents
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Electrical & Mechanical Engineering qualification – minimum ONC in Electrical Engineering/NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent)
- 18th Edition Electrical qualification
- Strong proven experience within engineering or automation environments
- Hands-on knowledge of warehouse automation systems, including Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs), Conveyors, Sortation systems
- Experience working in complex, fast-moving operations
