Transport Planning Clerk

We are looking for a full-time, permanent and a 12 month fixed term contract, Transport Planning Clerk to join our team in Daventry, working in partnership with our customer Sainsburys.
You will be working on a 5- day rotating shift pattern between the hours of 07:00 and 17:00 with hybrid working, where 40% of your time will be office based.

What you will do on a typical day:
- Create and manage transport schedules across multiple sites, ensuring cost efficiency, service level compliance, and optimal trailer utilisation
- Plan and execute backhaul requests and ad-hoc transport movements, addressing failures and optimising routes to reduce empty legs and costs
- Collate and validate operational data, produce financial reports, raise invoices, and maintain accurate KPI records
- Liaise with hauliers, depots, and third parties to resolve issues, monitor haulier performance
- Produce reports as requested in a timely manner
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Experience in a similar role is desirable, but not essential
- Excellent organisation, communication, and customer service skills
- Good MS Office knowledge
- Strong communication skills, with ability to work on own initiative as well as team engagement/delivery.
