Accounts Assistant

At GXO Doncaster, we are looking for Accounts Assistant to join our fast-paced, customer and colleague driven Home Delivery Network. Reporting into our Finance Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in preparing weekly reports, producing payroll reporting, invoicing and assisting with month end procedures.
This is a full time, permanent position. Monday to Friday, with flexibility of working from home (with Wednesday’s being a requirement to be based in the office).

What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Deliver timely and accurate weekly and monthly financial reporting across payroll, agency costs, small customer financials, journals, invoicing, and KPIs, ensuring GL accuracy, double‑entry compliance, and audit readiness
- Provide meaningful insight into labour usage, cost drivers, and variances, clearly highlighting risks, trends, and opportunities to support Finance and Operations decision‑making
- Own payroll reconciliation and variance management, proactively manage payroll queries, and challenge managers and teams to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to finance policies
- Act as a proactive team player who can work independently, manage workload effectively, support colleagues across Finance, and continuously learn across different finance disciplines
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Strong experience in Excel and data manipulation
- Proven experience within payroll administration, with strong attention to detail
- Good time management and driven by pace and accuracy
- Working towards AAT qualification
