Assistant Management Accountant

Join us at GXO, as Assistant Management Accountant for our customers in our Home Delivery Network.

 

This is a full time, permanent position with 37.5 hours per week contracted (Monday to Friday between 8:00 to 17:00). We can be flexible for hybrid working, with a requirement to be based in our Doncaster depot on Wednesdays.  

 

Pay, benefits and more:

 

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £33,000 per annum, and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). Your benefits package includes a company sponsored pension scheme, life assurance and access to our benefits platform, including retail discounts.

 

What you’ll do on a typical day:

 

  • Deliver accurate weekly and monthly customer/site financial reporting, timely invoicing, and clear resolution of queries
  • Provide detailed financial analysis, highlight value‑adding insights, and confidently present key information to senior stakeholders
  • Own key financial processes including insurance reporting, balance sheet management, accruals, prepayments, GL coding, and adherence to finance policies
  • Proactively challenge managers on data accuracy, support continuous improvement initiatives, and take a solution‑focused approach across Finance and Operations
  • Work collaboratively within the team while independently managing workload; demonstrate strong accounting knowledge including double‑entry and cost drivers

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

 

  • Experience completing monthly Management Accounts and preparing accounting packs including analysis
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and confidence working with Finance Business Partners and functional leads
  • A structured, organised approach with proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and the ability to apply them accurately to transaction timing and treatment
  • A continuous improvement mindset with a track record of identifying opportunities to enhance quality or efficiency
