Class 2 Lead Driver

Are you an experienced Class 2 driver looking for to progress to the next level? Here at GXO Logistics, we have an exciting opportunity for a Class 2 Lead Driver to join our busy Howdens, Multi Drop transport team, from our Doncaster depot, DN4 5PD.

This is a full-time position, as a Class 2 Lead Driver, you will be contracted to work 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday, shift start times from 04:00 and 05:30.

 What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Safely deliver customer goods on time, completing multi-drop deliveries within set windows
  • Secure loads, check vehicles for defects, and follow all driving laws and safety standards
  • Provide excellent customer service and resolve delivery issues professionally
  • Support yard operations, vehicle loading, and assist with team guidance and driver training
  • Work closely with transport office and management, staying flexible and committed to high standards

What you need to succeed at GXO:

  • You’ll hold a valid Class 2 (Category C) driving licence, CPC qualification, and Digital Tachograph Card
  • Maintain a satisfactory driving record, with no more than six penalty points, (no TT, DD, DR, DG, BA, AC, LC or CD endorsements)
  • Demonstrates strong customer‑facing skills, consistently delivering a professional and courteous service
  • Reliable and well organised, with excellent timekeeping with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and a flexible proactive approach to work
