We are recruiting for a Category Manager (m/f/d) at GXO Logistics, supporting our logistics sites in Germany.
What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders to drive performance, innovation, and value.
- Innovation & Agile Procurement: Drive procurement innovation by identifying opportunities for integrating cutting-edge solutions, focusing on agility to quickly adapt to market changes and stakeholder needs, next to Procurement savings to be executed and tracked delivering direct financial results (EBITDA inpact) - hard savings.
- Data Management & Analytics: Lead the development of procurement data management practices, leveraging analytics to make informed decisions and optimize supplier performance
- Performance Management: Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure supplier success and procurement excellence
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: work closely with internal stakeholders to understand business needs, ensuring that procurement activities contribute effectively to the company goals, next to other GXO regions across the globe to align synergies and sourcing strategies.
- Risk Management: Identify, evaluate, and mitigate supply chain risks to ensure reliability and continuity of supply
- Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure optimal terms and conditions, focusing on integrity, fairness, and long-term relationships
- Implement in the GXO sites in Germany the GXO standards from other more developed regions, and converting operational buying activities to tactical and strategical Purchasing.
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Self-driven, resilient and able to thrive in a challenging environment
- 5 years of experience in procurement/ buying role preferably in a large, multi-component company and in preparing and auditing complex financial reports
- Bachelor’s or Master's Degree in Accounting or Finance generally required. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience, or training
- Able to work in a diverse environment and gain exposure to an international working environment
- Fluent German and English both spoken and written
- Excellent financial skills
- Ability to monitor and uphold high quality of service to clients (internal and external)
