Applications Support Specialist (2nd line support)

To support our growing presence in Central Europe, we are looking for an Applications Support Specialist (2nd line support) (m/w/d) to join our team in Dorsten. This is a hybrid position that will require shift work between 7:00 AM and 10:00 PM.
What your day looks like:
- Provide first-line support for WMS Manhattan Active, including user account management, troubleshooting, issue resolution, and escalation when needed.
- Analyze and optimize WMS and operational processes, define application requirements, and assist in implementing system improvements.
- Analyze process dependencies and translate them into system configurations; identify necessary application changes and define related requirements.
- Create and execute test plans to validate new configurations and software releases, ensuring successful implementation and acceptance.
- Monitor and maintain IT infrastructure (e.g. cables, switches, equipment), assist with hardware setup, and maintain an up-to-date IT asset inventory.
- Respond to support requests via phone, email, or helpdesk software; deliver user support and basic IT training with a strong focus on customer service.
- Collaborate with key users, project teams, and external support (3rd/4th line) to ensure high-quality delivery and ongoing system support.
What do you need to be successful:
- A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in a similar position as a Key User or WMS IT Supporter.
- Familiarity with WMS Manhattan Active or similar Warehouse Management Systems is mandatory.
- Overall technical knowledge of IT systems, infrastructure, and applications as well as basic understanding of networking concepts and infrastructure components (e.g., switches, routers, cables).
- Proficiency in using helpdesk software and remote support tools.
- Fluent in English; German language knowledge will be a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, as well as ability to work independently and as part of a team.
