We’re looking for a Transport Planner to join our team at Draycott. You’ll be responsible for route planning across our UK network along with supporting our team of drivers.  You’ll ensure that our transport department always runs in an efficient and effective manner.  You’ll work on a Monday – Friday basis working hours of 7:30am-3:30pm.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £31,000 to £34,000 per annum, and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). What you’ll do on a typical day:

 

 

  • Track daily deliveries using the in-house vehicle tracking systems.
  • Complete all Vehicle resourcing, assuring all vehicles are fully crewed.
  • Liaise with all Agency suppliers to ensure a supply of drivers is always available.
  • Make sure all daily plans always fall within the driver’s hour regulations.
  • Liaise with the customer ensuring booking times are correct to enable full utilisation of the fleet.

 

What you need to succeed at GXO

 

  • Track daily deliveries using the in-house vehicle tracking systems.
  • Experience of working in a transport environment, ideally within Transport Planning
  • Knowledge of transport legislation, driver hours and tachograph
  • Experience of cost control and working within budget, reporting, and managing cost variances
  • Good geographical experience required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, experience developing relationships with customers and colleagues
