As a WMS Application Support Engineer you work on the intersection of GXO operations and Information Technology. You apply your in-depth knowledge of the warehouse applications to support our operations with application issues they face during operations and you assist in improving processes and application functionality. You closely collaborate with the key users at the site and your peers in other IT teams in the region in order to achieve the best possible service for our operations.

What you do on a typical day

• You resolve application issues reported by the sites using our centralized ITIL processes and IT Service Management system.
• You actively participate in improvement initiatives to improve or enhance functionalities of the applications. You implement – in collaboration with other IT teams – changes in the operational environment, following GXO change management processes
• You act on system generated alerts that could indicate potential issues in order to prevent business disruptions
• You perform root-cause analyses for repeating or high-impact application issues
• Various GXO logistics sites run in multiple shifts and some operate on a 7 x 24 schedule. In order to provide support outside of normal office hours, you will – after completing your training – participate in the on-call rotation support schedule
• You participate in system upgrades initiatives to keep our application landscape up to date
• Besides WMS, you may occasionally perform tasks in the areas of TMS, carrier integration, reporting and EDI
• You occasionally assist our project teams by participating in User Acceptance Tests for new implementations
• You may occasionally support other peripheral applications like TMS, reporting platforms, carrier integration solutions and EDI

You will be working at the regional IT department, where IT is taking care of for all GXO sites in Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany. You will be part of a team that deals with the Core WMS and TMS applications for existing and new GXO operations. In this role you will report directly to the IT Manager Application Support.

What you need to succeed at GXO

• You have experience in working in a logistical environment, preferably with or within a 3PL logistics service provider. You understand logistical processes and how these processes are implemented in IT applications
• You have experience in working with Warehouse Management Systems
• You approach issues systematically by applying your analytical skills
• You communicate effectively with (key)users from the site and your peers in other IT areas’. You assist your co-workers when needed and seek assistance if required
• You have the ability to work independent, analytical and accurate, but you are also able to maintain a helicopter view
• Experience in a complex, high demanding and fast-paced international environment, preferably in Supply Chain industry
• You have excellent knowledge of English Language. Dutch and German are a very nice to have
