Workforce Manager I

Are you an experienced workforce professional with a strong focus on operational excellence, process improvement, and stakeholder management? GXO Logistics is looking for a Workforce Manager to strengthen our Operations organization and drive workforce performance across multiple Business Units in the Netherlands.

What you do on a typical day

As Workforce Manager, you operate within the centrally managed Workforce Management (WFM) organization and play a key tactical role between strategy and operations. You are responsible for building, managing, and optimizing a future-proof and cost-efficient workforce across one or more Business Units.

You translate strategic workforce objectives into tactical and operational plans, lead Workforce Coordinators and Planners, manage staffing partners, and ensure KPI performance at site and BU level. In this role, you act as a critical link between central strategy, Business Units, site management, HR, and external staffing agencies.

Your base location is our head office in Eindhoven, and you report directly to the Head of Workforce Management Operations.

• Monitoring workforce capacity, performance, and KPIs at BU and site level
• Translating strategic workforce guidelines into tactical and operational plans
• Creating annual workforce plans based on forecasts, growth, seasonality, and improvement initiatives
• Ensuring optimal availability of resources in the short, mid, and long term
• End‑to‑end management of the permanent GXO workforce pool
• Optimising the fixed/flex workforce mix across sites and Business Units
• Managing and coaching Workforce Coordinators and Planners
• Driving team development, engagement, and a culture of continuous improvement
• Initiating, leading, and implementing process improvements within Workforce Management
• Standardising tools and processes according to the “One Way of Working” principle
• Managing staffing agencies at a tactical level, including performance, capacity, and contract compliance
• Acting as an escalation point for complex workforce and vendor-related issues
• Participating in tactical customer discussions together with Site Management and/or BU Management
• Providing data-driven workforce scenarios, forecasts, and recommendations
• Building strong stakeholder relationships with Operations, HR, Site Management, and vendors

What do you need to be successful at GXO?

• HBO / University level of working and thinking
• Proven experience in workforce management, planning, or operations within Logistics or a similar environment
• Demonstrated experience in managing and developing teams
• Strong experience with vendor management and external staffing agencies
• Highly analytical and data-driven, with strong affinity for forecasting and KPI management
• Strong leadership, decision-making, and stakeholder management skills
• Comfortable navigating between strategic, tactical, and operational levels
• Excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English
• Stress-resilient, result-oriented, and confident in driving change and process optimisation
