HR Advisor

Here at GXO, we’re recruiting for a HR Advisor to join our team in Harlow. You’ll provide expert HR support to managers and employees, ensuring compliance with employment law and delivering initiatives that drive engagement and performance.

 

This is a full-time, permanent role, working Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, but this can be flexible

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £37,500 per annum and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). What you’ll do on a typical day:

 

  • Provide expert guidance to line managers on complex employee relations issues, including disciplinary and grievance cases, performance management, and formal investigations, ensuring adherence to employment law and company policies.
  • Analyse and interpret HR data to identify trends in headcount, turnover, and absence, producing insightful reports that inform strategic decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead the end-to-end absence management process, including conducting welfare and health review meetings, managing occupational health referrals, and implementing proactive measures to reduce absenteeism.
  • Partner with managers to deliver a robust recruitment and talent development strategy, supporting workforce planning, onboarding, and capability-building initiatives aligned with business objectives.
  • Oversee the integrity of HR administration and systems throughout the employee lifecycle, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, ethical standards, and internal audits while driving process efficiency.
  • Contribute to cultural and behavioural change programmes, promoting engagement, equality of opportunity, and a positive working environment that reflects GXO’s values.

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

 

  • Experience in a similar HR generalist role
  • Strong knowledge of Employment Law and HR best practices
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • CIPD qualified or working towards (preferred)
