Transport Operations Controller (Days)

Here at GXO, we are looking for a Transport Operations Controller to join our team in Feltham to take full responsibility in organising and controlling the daily transport operation providing a timely and cost-effective delivery service, whilst promoting teamwork in a people-orientated environment. Supporting our Costa Coffee contract, you will also have a chance to grow and develop your own team with a focus on continuous improvement.
This is a full time, permanent position, working any 4 days from 8, 07:00 – 19:00.

What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Day-to-day, you will deal with all driver-related issues ensuring that all transport legislation is always adhered to
- Hold responsibility for compliance with company and statutory requirements regarding Operator Licence, H&S, service quality, drivers’ hours, and tacho regulations, inclusive of the working time directive
- Comply with all relevant transport legislation covering the fleet, ensuring all vehicles are maintained in line with legal requirements and ‘O’ Licence requirements
- Be responsible for transport department resources, induction, assessment, and training, including agency staff, and supporting with HR requirements such as absence, timekeeping, and D&G
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Excellent transport knowledge including route planning, knowledge of driver hour rules and vehicle/transport legislation
- Experience of working in a fast-moving environment
- Excellent people management, coaching and influencing skills
- Holder of Managers CPC is essential
