Due to a new site and a new building in Ghlin, Belgium we are recruiting for 2 x Team Leaders to join our team! You will report into the supervisor, supporting a leading technology brand customer.

 

  • As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the site, reporting into the Supervisor
  • Leading a team of 5 -10 material handers 
  • Fluency in French and good level in English is required, both verbal and written
  • Hours: Monday – Friday 38 hours a week, daytime working

 

 

What you do on a typical day

  • As a Team Leader, you will manage the team’s performance continually, develop associates by providing training and coaching
  • Responsible for meeting all operational KPI’s
  • Assigns duties and monitors work completion for accuracy
  • Maintains a safe work environment and fosters a positive team dynamic, resolving employee relations issues and administering corrective action as required
  • Lead start-up activities with cross-functional teams
  • Responsible for making recommendations regarding hiring, terminating, performance evaluations, and promotions
  • Daily interaction with internal and external customers on an operational level
  • Personnel scheduling to support all shifts and accounts, plan and organize staff workload
  • Maintain documentation of processes that are followed by the department
  • Train associates so that an up-to-date understanding of processes, policies, and procedures is maintained
  • Consciously dealing with the reduction of environmental impact in terms of waste, energy, water, and fuel consumption.

 

What you need to succeed at GXO

  • Intermediate Vocational Education in logistics, supply chain management, or equivalent, alternatively, previous experience within an operational-based role within a logistics environment
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) in Norwegian and English
  • LEAN Warehousing
