Are you a passionate people leader, we are recruiting for a Team Leader for our site in Ghlin.
You may be an experienced Team Leader looking for a new challenge, or someone that has some exposure to supporting a team and wanting that team lead role.
You are responsible for the processes and the team within your department. Constantly managing and motivating your team, you also strive for process improvements.
Supporting one of our key clients, you will be working with the Supervisor to ensure the team are working effectively, always ensuring support.
For this role, you must be fluent in French and English, no shift work is required.
What You Do on a Typical Day
- Manage ongoing team performance; develop associates by providing training and coaching.
- Accountability for achieving all operational KPIs.
- Assign tasks and monitor completion for accuracy.
- Maintain a safe work environment and foster a positive team dynamic, resolving employee relations issues and administering corrective action when necessary.
- HSE mindset
- Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, related to 5’s, Lean, Kaizen ways of working.
- Lead start-up activities with cross-functional teams.
- Responsible for making recommendations regarding hiring, termination, performance reviews and promotions.
- Daily interaction with internal and external customers at the operational level.
- Staff planning and organize staff workload.
- Promote and ensure compliance with agency standards and foster proactive safety culture
- Maintain documentation of processes followed by the department.
- Train associates to maintain an up-to-date understanding of processes, policies and procedures.
- Consciously address the reduction of environmental impact in terms of waste, energy, water and fuel consumption.
What You Need To Succeed At GXO
- MBO (post-secondary college) level of work and thinking, would be preferable
- Experience in leading a team preferred or a similar position where you wish to develop.
- You have good communication skills at multiple levels in English & French
- You have an enthusiastic and flexible attitude, and you have a self-starting ability.
- You have good knowledge of office software SAP and WMS functionality.
