Transport & Warehouse Supervisor
Are you an experienced front‑line leader in transport or warehousing? Do you thrive in a fast‑paced operation where no two days are the same? Are you ready to step up, take ownership, and lead teams across both warehouse and transport activities? If you’re proactive, people‑focused and ready for a role where you can make an impact, we want to hear from you!
Here at GXO Logistics, we’re looking for a Transport & Warehouse Supervisor to join our B&Q operation in Cambuslang. In this hands‑on leadership role, you’ll support the contract by coordinating daily operations, managing driver and warehouse teams, and ensuring safety, compliance, service and performance are delivered to the highest standards. You’ll be the first line of support for a busy, dynamic site — reacting quickly to operational challenges, coaching your teams, and keeping the day running safely and smoothly.
This is a full-time, permanent position working on an ‘any 5 from 7’ shift pattern. The role will operate on a 3‑shift rotating pattern of: 06:00–14:00, Monday–Friday, 14:00–22:00, Monday–Friday and 22:00–06:00, Sunday–Thursday.
Pay, benefits and more:
You’ll be paid a salary of up to £32,000 per annum, you’ll also receive 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days so you can enjoy a positive work-life balance. Your benefits package includes a company sponsored pension scheme, private medical and dental insurance, a 24/7 online GP service, life assurance and a fully comprehensive employee assistance programme. You’ll have access to our MyBenefits platform offering a variety of high street discounts, a cycle to work scheme, cashback cards, a saving scheme and much more. You’ll also have access to our GXO University which provides you with the opportunity to learn new skills and gain qualifications at a pace that you’re comfortable with. There’s also our continued focus on internal promotions, over 60% last year!
What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Lead, coach and support a team of drivers and warehouse operatives to deliver safe, compliant and efficient operations
- Respond to unforeseen events and operational challenges, using available resources to minimise disruption
- Ensure full compliance with H&S, ‘O’ Licence, vehicle standards and behavioural safety processes
- Manage driver performance using Tachomaster, Microlise, DCRS and compliance systems, addressing infringements and standards
- Conduct 1–2–1s, welfare meetings, investigations and other people processes in line with GXO policies
- Act as a point of contact for warehouse systems and stock issues, resolving problems as a super user
- Support continuous improvement, QHSE requirements, accident investigations and best‑practice sharing
- Build strong working relationships with drivers, warehouse teams, QHSE, HR, Driver Trainers and customer stakeholders
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Proven experience managing or supervising teams in transport and/or warehouse operations
- Strong communication and coaching skills
- Good understanding of compliance, H&S and O‑Licence requirements
- Experience using WMS or transport systems (e.g., Microlise, Tachomaster, Red Prairie/JDA)
- Ability to react calmly and effectively to operational challenges
- Confident using Microsoft Office
- Strong organisational skills with a proactive, solutions‑focused mindset
