Warehouse Shift Manager

Join us as our Warehouse Shift Manager, for our customer Howdens based in our Bellshill depot. You’ll be overseeing the movement and storage of goods, ensuring safe use of equipment, and maintaining excellent safety across our site. Leading by example to meet productivity expectations, this is a great opportunity to utilise your leadership skills, to coach, develop and support our colleagues in operational success.
This is a full time, permanent position with contracted hours of 37.5 per week (Monday to Friday: Days, with flexibility for business needs).

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £38,000 per annum, and 33 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays). Your benefits package includes a company sponsored pension scheme, life assurance and access to our benefits platform, including retail discounts
What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Deliver excellent operational performance by completing all warehouse functions to the highest standard and meeting customer service requirements and site KPIs
- Carry out core warehouse duties, including loading/unloading vehicles, operating FLTs and pallet trucks using RF systems, and working at heights to retrieve and store pallets
- Maintain accuracy and productivity, consistently meeting or exceeding required performance rates through colleague engagement, development and collaboration
- Ensure safety and compliance, following all Health & Safety procedures, attending training when required, and handling products in line with safety, quality, legality, company, customer, and BRC standards
- Identify and escalate quality issues, reporting any potential food safety, hygiene, or damage concerns to the Shift Manager and completing all necessary process and quality documentation
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Previous warehouse leadership experience in a large, fast‑paced warehouse environment
- Competent user of Warehouse Management Systems and delivering operational excellence
- Experience managing priorities, with the ability to plan and organise a warehouse operation
- Excellent people skills, the ability to effectively lead, develop and manage a team, whilst identifying areas for development and recognising success
