Assistant Distribution Manager

Join us as our Assistant Distribution Manager on our Greene King contract, based in Greenford.
You’ll play a key role in driving operational performance, including leading teams, managing workflow and ensuring safety, quality and service standards are met every day.
This is a full time, permanent position, Monday to Friday, rotating over 06:00-14:00, 08:00-16:00, or 12:00- 20:00. The site is a 24/7 operation, so some flexibility will be required - you may have 04:00 starts or be on call on Saturdays.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £53,000 and 33 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays). What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Support and deputise for the Distribution Manager, ensuring the smooth running of the transport operation and consistent delivery of service
- Lead, develop and manage a team of shift managers, team leaders and clerks, driving engagement, performance and development
- Ensure full compliance with transport legislation, operator licence requirements, Health & Safety and food safety (NSF/BRC) standards
- Work closely with planning, compliance and warehouse teams to optimise fleet and driver utilisation, resolve operational issues and deliver against KPIs
- Drive continuous improvement, proactively managing absence, performance, driver debriefs, and resolving driver and customer queries
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Previous experience within a 3PL transport environment, with proven experience leading teams in a fast-paced operation
- Strong understanding of transport compliance, including WTD, digital tachographs, and operator licence requirements
- Highly organised, proactive and resilient, with the ability to manage performance, absence and operational challenges effectively
- Experience developing people, with a structured and detail-focused approach
- International CPC qualification desirable as there maybe a requirement to be on the O License in the future
