Customer Service Liaison Assistant

As a Customer Service Liaison Assistant, you are the vital link between our Waitrose Greenford Fulfilment Centre, our delivery teams, and the customers waiting for their shopping. You won’t just be answering phones; you’ll be solving problems in real-time, ensuring every delivery is a success, and upholding the reputation of one of the UK’s most-loved retailers.

This is a full-time permanent position working any 5 from 7 with shifts of 05:00 to 13:00 and 13:00 to 21:00.

We’re looking to offer a salary of £26,435 and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). Your benefits package includes a company sponsored pension scheme, life assurance and access to our benefits platform, including retail discounts.

 

What you’ll do on a typical day:

 

  • Serve as the first point of contact for customers and drivers, handling high‑volume calls and emails with professionalism and empathy
  • Resolve delivery issues and complaints using Salesforce CRM, turning challenges into positive customer experiences
  • Maintain accurate customer records in full GDPR compliance
  • Carry out daily administrative tasks using Microsoft Excel and Word to support performance and delivery tracking
  • Promote a strong “Safety First” culture by following Food Safety and Health & Safety guidelines while staying up to date with new products and platform update

What you need to succeed at GXO:

 

  • Proven experience in customer service or a similar customer‑facing role
  • Excellent IT literacy, including confident use of Outlook and core Microsoft applications
  • Strong communication skills, both internally and when engaging with customers
  • Ability to prioritise and manage high‑volume tasks effectively
