Transport Administrator

Here at GXO Greenford (UB6 0AA), we work closely with Waitrose CFC and are currently looking for Transport Administrators to join our fast‑paced transport office. In this role, you will support our Transport Team to ensure our delivery drivers are dispatched on time with the correct equipment. You will communicate with colleagues to make sure we deliver excellent service to our customers, while completing day‑to‑day administrative tasks to keep the office running smoothly and efficiently.
You’ll be working on a full‑time, permanent basis, on any 5 days out of 7 shift patterns (including weekends), this role covers PM shifts (12:00–20:00 or 15:00–23:00) and AM shifts (04:00–12:00 or 05:00–13:00). Start times will vary depending on operational requirements, so you must be flexible and able to work both.

What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Carry out all transport office functions in line with company policies and procedures
- Deal with incoming / outgoing telephone calls politely and confidently
- Provide and maintain efficient and effective clerical support for the transport office / Driving team as required
- Facilitate effective communication between yourself, your peers and the Management Team
- Support drivers on the road via phone calls to ensure they are providing great customer service
- Carry out office admin tasks including preparing daily reports, maintaining spreadsheets and notetaking
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Proven track record of working within a transport operation, including a good geographical knowledge of the United Kingdom
- Knowledge of transport legislation and European Working Time Directive as well as Tachomaster
- Excellent communication skills with experience of customer relationship management
- Ability to work under time pressure and quickly adapt to change
- IT Literate, with excellent Word and Excel capabilities
