Transport First Line Manager

We’re looking for a proactive Transport First Line Manager to join in our Customer Fulfilment Centre for Waitrose in Greenford. Responsible and accountable for managing core and agency colleagues across the transport operation within a 24 hour a day, 7 days a week operation. Ensuring achievement of productivity and agreed key customer service levels within cost targets through a motivated team.
This is a full time, permanent position and the hours are any 5 from 7 and various shifts between 04:00 and 23:00.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £39,007 per annum, and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Lead and manage a transport operation, ensuring deliveries meet agreed service levels and customer satisfaction metrics
- Ensure compliance with all legal, health & safety standards, EU driving regulations, and operational procedures
- Drive performance and efficiency, managing resources to improve costs, achieve measurable targets, and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Develop and support your team, fostering a positive culture, coaching colleagues, and ensuring fair treatment in line with company values
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Strong transport knowledge, including EU regulations and health & safety compliance
- Proven experience in managing teams within transport or distribution environments
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills with a proactive, results-driven approach
- Confident in managing change, disciplinary processes, and using IT systems effectively
