The Director, Compensation Equity, Transparency, and Governance leads the strategic development and execution of fair pay initiatives across the organization. This role ensures compliance with global and local pay equity regulations, drives transparency in compensation practices, and supports a culture of compliance, fairness and trust. The Director partners with HR, Legal, and business leaders to analyze compensation data, identify disparities, and implement corrective actions. The Director, Pay Equity will be responsible and accountable for the strategic leadership, consultation and leadership of the pay transparency pay equity and specific pay compliance initiatives. Additionally, they will be responsible for selecting and managing vendors for the business and be involved in potential negotiations, and will also have overall responsibility for designing, maintaining and communicating a market competitive pay governance, equity, and transparency policy, along with consistent practices and guidelines to support compliance.

What you’ll do on a typical day:
•    Lead project team of internal and external resources focused on delivering compliant EU Pay Transparency Directive process, US state legislation, UK Pay Gap and other pay equity, transparency and disclosure requirements globally.
•    Partner with Compensation, Legal and Compliance to ensure administration aligns, respond to inquiries and review reports
•    Develop and lead the Global pay equity and pay transparency strategies, acting as a coach and strategic advisor to the business to facilitate compliance. 
•    Build, amend and align GXO’s global compensation policy, guidelines and practices in partnership with the Compensation team. Devise and implement changes where required.
•    Implements tools and systems to facilitate compliance and enhance compensation efficiency, effectiveness and compliance with different regulatory and tax environments.
•    Serve as subject matter expert on pay equity legislation (e.g. EU Pay Transparency Directive and US State laws).  Monitor and interpret emerging regulations and trends.
•    Analyze potential impact of trends and anticipate any future developments that may be relevant, recommending and implementing changes where necessary.
•    Lead investigations and remediation plans for identified outliers and develop resolution steps.
•    Responsible for vendor management, nurturing and strengthening relationships.
•    Drives Total Rewards pay equity and gender pay gap objectives on system development and policy formation initiatives.
•    Conducts regular pay equity audits and gender pay gap analysis.
•    Prepare and review internal and external reports for regulatory compliance and transparency.
•    Partners with Compensation teams to deliver pay equity and pay transparency goals and embed equity into job architecture and pay structures including effective hire rates.
•    Lead initiatives to educate employees and managers on compensation philosophy and transparency by partnering with the GXO University teams to build capabilities regarding pay equity and gender pay gap.

What you need to succeed at GXO:
At a minimum, you’ll need:
•    Bachelor's degree in Business, Administration, HR or a related field; or equivalent related work or military experience
•    Minimum 5 years’ experience in managing compensation pay equity and pay transparency initiatives.
•    Professional certifications such as Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), SHRM-SCP, or SPHR
•    A proven track record of building, analyzing and administering pay equity, pay transparency and gender pay gap in blue chip organizations.
•    Experience in supporting multiple locations and/or markets in a global organization is essential for this role.
•    Experience in developing strategy, aligning policies and processes.
•    A demonstrated effectiveness building capabilities regarding policies and practices, specifically articulating, presenting and educating senior executives in the topic.
•    Depth understanding of compensation compliance is beneficial for this role.
•    Experience in creating structure where needed is essential for this role.

It’d be great if you also have:
•    Master’s degree (MA, MS, MBA, or similar) in a relevant field
•    Experience in logistics, supply chain, or a similarly complex, operational environment
•    Experience with compensation surveys and market benchmarking
•    Experience collaborating with Legal, Finance, and Operations teams
•    Experience managing external vendors, consultants, or regulatory audits
