The Vice President, Human Resources – Corporate & Global Functions serves as the strategic HR partner to GXO’s global C-suite executives leading Corporate and global functions. This leader shapes enterprise people strategy for the assigned functions, accelerates leadership effectiveness, strengthens organizational capability, and ensures world‑class HR partnership across the global function’s portfolio. This role is pivotal in shaping the culture in those functions and supports Executive leadership to build high-performing teams to deliver on goals.

 

Position based onsite at our GXO facility in Greenwich, CT

What you’ll do on a typical day:

Key responsibilities:

Strategic HR Leadership & Influence

  • Strategic HR Business Partner to assigned executive leadership group: acts as a coach, architect, builder, facilitator, leader whilst ensuring HR delivery is fully aligned to the functional, regional and HR strategic goals
  • Shape and support the execution of the functional people strategy in line with the functional and regional goals
  • Bring HR insight in the global functions to address all people related issues within Hire-to-Retire processes

 

Implementing AI within business functions

  • Advise senior leaders on the workforce implications of AI, including skills transformation, talent strategy, operating model evolution, and governance
  • Serve as a strategic partner in AI‑enabled transformation, guiding leaders as they redesign work, evolve roles, and prepare teams for AI‑augmented environments
  • Align AI initiatives with HR and business strategy, ensuring responsible, effective, and scalable adoption across all functions
  • Lead organizational change and workforce readiness, equipping employees with the skills, support, and clarity needed to adopt AI confidently and productively
  • Champion responsible AI practices, ensuring implementations enhance productivity, decision‑making, employee experience, and long‑term organizational capability

Culture, Engagement & Leadership Excellence

  • Champion a high-performance, inclusive and values-driven culture
  • Ensure all HR activities and programs are delivered across all groups in accordance with the global and regional strategies
  • Develop a high-performance culture by connecting functional vision with people plans, identifying issues and root causes and designing solutions, providing measurable performance indicators and improvement plans where needed
  • Promotes a positive employee experience across all people-processes
  • Partner with functional leaders to drive Engagement across global functions, co-designing engagement initiatives while ensuring that every function delivers on agreed functional action plans

 

Enterprise Talent Strategy, Workforce Planning and Capability building

  • Effectively lead talent assessment, talent development, succession planning, and workforce planning processes to ensure we have the right talent in the right jobs at the right cost.
  • Work with functional leaders and other HR colleagues to identify functional capability development needs and ensure delivery of strategy, plans and solutions as necessary

 

Organizational Design, Operating models & Transformation

  • Partner with enterprise leaders to design organisation structures to be fit-for-the future
  • Sponsor or lead organisation design or organisation effectiveness programmes as and when required
  • Sponsor, lead or support any ad-hoc business initiatives (i.e. M&A, transformation)
  • Serve as an ambassador to review and embed GXO’s functional operating models
  • Act as a change agent to drive business transformation: sponsor or build change management initiatives as needed and helps the organisation move forward as required

 

Global Employee Relations, Risk & Compliance

  • Oversee complex global employee relations matters, closely partnering with key COEs for successful resolutions
  • Ensures people compliance across functional groups
  • Manages and delivers on HR metrics and measurements for client group

 

What you need to succeed at GXO: 

Experience

  • Progressive HR leadership experience as a generalist HR professional, holding senior/Executive HRBP positions
  • Proven success partnering with C-suite executives
  • Similar experience supporting Global functions/Corporate roles in publicly listed organizations, supporting global teams/agendas
  • Significant experience implementing AI within business functions, with a strong ability to translate AI strategy into workforce, talent, and organizational outcomes
  • Effective Matrix Management and leadership experience across borders
  • Good general understanding of European and US employment law
  • Experience in HR transformation across multiple geographies
  • Best practice in function / external marketplace

 

Education

  • BA degree or equivalent
  • Post graduate HR certification/degree (preferred)
