Are you an experienced Site Engineer who enjoys being close to the operation and making things work better every day? At our Heerlen warehouse, you’ll play a hands‑on role in keeping operations running smoothly while driving continuous improvement in a fast‑paced logistics environment.

You’ll work closely with Operations and Engineering colleagues, using your technical expertise to improve processes, support people on the floor, and ensure we deliver safe, reliable, and high‑quality service to our customers. If you enjoy solving problems, working close to the operation, and making a real impact — we’d love to hear from you.

 

What you’ll be doing

  • Support the day‑to‑day running of warehouse operations, including planning, stock control and process monitoring
  • Act as a key user for systems and automated processes, identifying issues and implementing improvements
  • Work with the Operations Management Team to implement new initiatives, strategies and customer requirements
  • Monitor performance, productivity and quality, and take action where needed
  • Participate in daily start‑up meetings and Lean activities on the warehouse floor
  • Ensure a safe working environment and actively promote GXO Health & Safety standards
  • Maintain equipment and facilities, reporting issues promptly
  • Contribute to sustainability initiatives, including reducing energy use, waste and emissions
  • Support a positive, collaborative team culture where everyone can do their best work

 

What you bring

  • Vocational or intermediate education in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience in a similar role within a logistics or warehouse environment
  • Strong analytical skills and a continuous‑improvement mindset
  • Clear communication skills in English (Dutch is a plus, but not essential)
  • A proactive, accountable approach and the ability to work well with others
  • Customer‑focused, solution‑oriented thinking
  • Knowledge and experience of automation is desired but training can be given
  • Abiliy to work within a multi-cultural environment
