In this role, you’ll play a key part in the day‑to‑day leadership of our operational processes. You’ll ensure that our department runs smoothly, support continuous improvement, and contribute to a positive, collaborative team environment. Your technical insight and customer‑focused mindset will help us meet organisational goals and deliver outstanding service.

 

What you do on a typical day

  • Completes a variety of tasks including planning, key user, stock control 
  • Applies technical/administrative expertise on assignment
  • Coordinates people and resources across different teams, understanding the way these complement and support each other
  • Work with Warehouse Management Team to ensure implementation of new strategies and initiatives to effectively meet or exceed these requirements as well as customer expectations
  • Secure and monitor(automated) warehouse processes and adjust if necessary
  • Ensure safe work environment and applies safety measurement as required
  • Initiate and describe from changes in the process when acquired
  • Participate in day start activities with cross functional team
  • Participate in Lean warehousing system on the floor
  • Train warehouse employees in required department processes
  • Demonstrates process knowledge and customer service
  • Resolves problems and makes decisions regarding quality in assigned department
  • Measure and report productivity for functional area
  • Ensure all verifications of errors are done in a timely manner
  • Maintain equipment and property; report all damages to management immediately
  • Work safely as per GXO Health & Safety trainings, standards, procedures and processes and actively contribute to a safer work environment for colleagues and visitors
  • Contribution to structural reduction of negative environmental impact from usage of natural resources (a/o energy, water, fuel) and from emissions (waste, carbon) and to contribute to environmental performance initiatives
  • Adhere to applicable legal requirements, GXO and industry standards and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

 

What you need to succeed at GXO

  • Minimum Required Education: Intermediate Vocational Education in logistics, supply chain management or equivalent
  • Minimum Required Experience: A demonstrable track record of experience in a similar role, gained within a Logistics environment
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) in English, with Dutch an added advantage
  • Individual must be able to read and comprehend English to understand work instructions and must have the ability to work well with others with little supervision 
  • Analytical, must be able to understand, analyse and advise
  • Must portray personal accountability
  • Must have team orientation and portray a commitment to task(s)
  • Customer service skills and be able to answer telephone calls or reply back to email requests
  • Good communication skills and be able to give direction to others
