The Director, Quality Assurance (QA), will be responsible for an end-to-end quality assurance program that increases first pass yield and improves overall IT delivery and support.

This is a highly influential role & will report directly to VP, AMAPAC-Technology. This role will manage a team of QA analysts & engineers and partner closely with product and development teams. Continuously evaluates team performance to ensure organizational goals and objectives are met.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Provide senior leadership direction on quality assurance strategy, methodology, and processes
  • Manage weekly, monthly, annual end-to-end QA activities
  • Maintain, advocate, and promote a culture driven by quality across the organization.
  • Partner with IT and Business leaders to ensure QA initiatives remain aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Build and foster a collaborative environment both internally and externally with business and IT partners.
  • Build partnership by collaborating across the entire organization
  • Serve as senior level escalation point for matters which require escalation pertaining to quality assurance and testing in the organization.
  • Analyze team performance against organization’s goals & ensure alignment
  • Responsible for governance and adherence to enterprise Software Testing Life Cycle.
  • Manage vendor relationships with the Quality Assurance department.
  • Maintain knowledge of core applications as required to provide direction on testing strategy.
  • Oversee and lead a large team of QA managers and associates across geographies.
  • Direct the professional growth and development of staff
  • Identify, develop, and coach future leaders within the IT organization.
  • Manage resources staffing with availability.

What you need to succeed at GXO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • 10+ years proven experience in building & managing QA programs.
  • Ability to influence without authority & drive change
  • Proven leadership skills with ability to identify and shape future leaders.
  • Expert knowledge of testing best practices and methodologies acquired through a combination of prior work experience and formal training.
  • Experience providing leadership and direction related to the administration and usage of test management software.
  • Knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes
  • Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
  • Experience with performance and/or security testing
  • Hands-on experience with automated testing tools & API testing tools

It’d be great if you also have:

  • 5+ years’ experience leading large & remote teams
