As the Proposal and Marketing Writer, you will be responsible for familiarizing yourself with GXO’s services, customers and products to develop engaging customer-facing messaging and content for sales and marketing materials. You’ll also be responsible for the collaboration, coordination and management of this function performed across the organization, including quality assurance, process standardization, compliance and workload balancing. What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Support business development and sales by developing, writing, editing and coordinating proposals for complex business-to-business services
  • Review customer requests for information and Requests for Proposals (RFPs), interpret requirements and coordinate response requirements
  • Interface with other functional groups such as Sales, Engineering, Operations, Finance and IT 
  • Manage the proposal process of gathering everything needed that will make up the response from all participating departments within tight timelines
  • Identify and articulate the specific value our company offers for current and potential customers
  • Use SharePoint to organize, track, update and store electronic materials
  • Assist personnel by proofreading documents and providing editorial, formatting and branding guidance

What you need to succeed at GXO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work or military experience  
  • 1 year of experience as a Technical, Proposal or Marketing Writer, Copywriter or Editor in a

      professional environment

  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) and technical

writing software

It’d be great if you also have:

  • A degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or a related field
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience supporting a business development team or function
  • 3 years of relevant work experience as a proposal or a grant writer/coordinator
