As the Senior Manager, Operations, you will provide strategic leadership and direction for our Implementation Support team. What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Define requirements for operations and ensure the implementation of new strategies and initiatives to effectively meet or exceed company requirements and customer expectations.
• Develop and deploy operational and management solutions and establish business controls and processes to support new business implementations.
• Provide project management and guidance to team members to ensure timeline and budget compliance.
• Provide leadership for project execution for both internal departments and external clients; offer direction and guidance to the project team and communicate project requirements to internal and external stakeholders.
• Develop a thorough understanding of the full scope of work including contracts, requirements, dependencies, schedules, budget, logistics, labor, materials, equipment, and other pertinent project needs.
• Create and manage cohesive project programs and plans with identifiable critical paths, task dependencies, risk/issue mitigation processes and major milestones.
• Work with business process owners to identify and scope areas of opportunity.
• Creatively scope, manage and implement projects to meet business needs.
• Establish solid collaboration and working relationships with senior leadership to support company goals.
• Direct, manage and implement project execution plan.
• Hold others accountable to project commitments.
• Influence without authority to achieve project goals.
• Ensure GXO Best Practices are implemented for all projects.
• Develop change management strategies to support project goals.
• Provide feedback and appropriately escalate risks and/or project roadblocks.
• Recognize and manage operational risks; implement best practices and provide a safe work environment.

What you need to succeed at GXO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work or military experience
• 5 years of experience in logistics management, managing multiple complex projects simultaneously of varying scope and size in a supply chain, logistics, or distribution environment
• Solid understanding of professional services economics, and experience with change management processes
• Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities. 
• Working knowledge of and experience in the functional areas of warehousing, distribution, inventory planning and management, network analysis and materials management
• Experience with financial management and business integration
• Availability to work extended hours, including evenings, nights and weekends; available for travel up to 40% to customer and multiple operating locations.

It’d be great if you also have:

• Advanced degree or MBA in Logistics or a related field
• 8 years of experience in logistics management
• Previous experience integrating new business and launching customer accounts.
• Proven leadership and collaboration skills with experience effectively supervising, coaching and influencing employees.
